BSODs are generally caused by bad drivers from hardware vendors. As for Windows 7, I’ve been using it since the beta and haven’t had any problems with it. Now some co-workers and I are using the RTM and it seems to be working great. I even had to use video card drivers for Vista from nVidia at first, but now they have Win7 drivers out.

You must be lucky. I bougt a brand new laptop with an intel core2 duo x64 processor, 6GB ram, and a 500GB hard drive, yet Vista can’t seem to run correctly out of the box. I’ve had it for two weeks, and ended up with blue screen errors caused by ntfs (verified using windows debugger to check the memory dumps). I re-iinstalled from the hard drive disk image, and now I feel like I need to be careful not to break it. I haven’t even installed the software I need for school yet.

Please dear god, either let windows7 be amazingly better, or help the makers of my wireless card develop a linux driver!

Hi,

I’m also having trouble with the lightbox not turning up, and clicking on the images simply takes me to the flickr photo page.

I have the setting checked, and the is present between the tag in the header.php file.

Any ideas? Thanks

Gripe #1: Idiotic science

J.J. Abrams does not know or does not care about science. Black holes are not literally holes. They are massive objects that suck in all matter and energy in their reach. You cannot escape one by detonating antimatter inside it. You cannot travel through time just by falling into one. (See also: #2 and #7)

They confused wormhole a la DS9 with Black Hole, its beyond idiotic. Seriously, this is the worse use of a Black Hole ever in a scifi.

And great use of the lazeu writer’s “What a great and time saving coincidence!” prerogative, conveniently having young Spock leave young Kirk on the same planet as old Spock and even just a few km aways from each other.

Let’s not forget – It took that drill thingie quite a while to drill to the center of Vulcan – one of the most advanced societies in the cosmos. Why couldn’t they just blow away the drill head like the back-woods earthies did? How could they possibly have no idea what was going on?!? Idiocy.
